Special Education Teacher - 15:1 - Math & Science

The West Seneca Central School District is seeking a full-time, probationary teacher to provide instruction to Students with Disabilities at the middle school level.  The ideal candidate must be certified to teach 15:1 Special Education courses in both Mathematics and Science.  The assignment will include delivering instruction in both integrated and non-integrated classes along with Academic Support classroom settings.

The successful candidate will receive salary and benefits paid according to the West Seneca Teachers' Association collective bargaining agreement and commensurate with experience.

The candidate must be able to demonstrate planning and preparation, instructional skills, effective classroom management and be motivated to engage in continuous professional development.

English as a New Language (ESL/ENL) - Long-Term Substitute

The West Seneca Central School District is seeking an ESL/ENL Long-Term Substitute Teacher to teach English as a New Language to East Senior High School and Northwood Elementary School students.  This assignment will include integrated co-teaching in ELA and Algebra 1B, as well as stand-alone instruction and push in and pull out services as per mandates.  The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to work with students at all grade levels.

This position is a full-time, temporary appointment beginning immediately and working through the first semester of the 2026-2027 school year.

The selected candidate will receive a teacher's salary and benefits paid according to the West Seneca Teacher's Association's collective bargaining agreement, commensurate and prorated to the appointment timeframe.

ALC Teaching Assistant - High School

The West Seneca Central School District has an immediate opening for a Teaching Assistant position at West Seneca East Senior High School.  This position is a full-time, probationary appointment supporting our secondary Alternative Learning Center.  

Job Description: 

The ALC Teaching Assistant supports the daily operation of the Alternative Learning Center by assisting classroom teachers with instruction, applying positive behavioral support, and supervising students throughout the building as assigned.  The Teaching Assistant works under the direction of the ALC Lead Administrator, ALC School Counselor, and classroom teaching staff to help students stay engaged, on task, and successful in a small-group environment.  This position is evaluated using the Criteria for Effective Teaching (CET) and will include the following domains/factors:

1. Instructional Support

  • Assist classroom teachers with the delivery of instruction, including working with individual students and small groups.
  • Help students stay on task, understand assignments, and complete classwork within the ALC setting.
  • Support the use of instructional materials, technology, and resources as directed by classroom teachers.
  • Assist with monitoring and documenting student academic progress as requested by teaching staff.

2. Student Supervision

  • Monitor hallways, study halls, and cafeterias as needed to ensure a safe and orderly school environment.
  • Respond to student needs and concerns promptly and consistently across all supervised settings.
  • Support building-wide supervision routines in collaboration with administration and staff.

3. Communication and Collaboration

  • Maintain regular communication with classroom teachers, counselors, and administration regarding student needs and progress.
  • Collaborate with ALC staff to support a consistent, structured environment for students.

4. Additional Responsibilities

  • Perform other duties as assigned by building or district administration.

The vacancy is a full-time (1.0 FTE), probationary position scheduled to begin effective immediately. Salary and benefits (health & dental), paid according to the West Seneca Teachers Association's collective bargaining agreement, will be offered to the selected candidate.
