The West Seneca Central School District has an immediate opening for a Teaching Assistant at West Seneca East Senior High School.  This vacancy is a full-time, probationary appointment with the primary responsibility of supervision of our secondary in-school suspension program (ISS).  

Primary Function:  The Teaching Assistant is responsible for helping to create a safe, consistent, stimulating, and nurturing learning environment and to assist every student in reaching his/her potential.  The Teaching Assistant is to act as a positive role model for students, and to strive for quality and promote pride in all District endeavors and to fulfill the mission of the District. 

The Teaching Assistant job description is based on the Criteria for Effective Teaching (CET) and will include the following domains/factors:

1. Collaboration with building administration to build an in-school suspension (ISS) program that is restorative, supportive, and helps students take responsibility for their actions.
2. Collaborating with classroom teachers to collect assignments, administer those assignments to students in the ISS and return the assignments to the teachers as needed.
3. Knowledge of PBIS and implementing positive, effective management strategies.
4. Monitor hallways, study halls and cafeterias as needed.
5. Other duties as assigned by administration.

This position is a full-time (1.0 FTE), probationary position to begin effective immediately. Salary and benefits (health & dental), paid according to the West Seneca Teachers Association's collective bargaining agreement, will be offered to the selected candidate upon hire.

The West Seneca Central School District has an immediate vacancy for a long-term substitute in the Education of Children with Handicapping Conditions - General Special Education tenure area.  This will be a full-time, temporary appointment beginning approximately November 4, 2026, through the end of the first semester of the 2026-2027 school year for an individual who is certified to teach Special Education at the secondary level.

The selected candidate will receive salary and benefits prorated to the appointment timeframe.  The assignment for the position is Inclusion/Self-Contained ELA 9/10 and Resource Room.  The candidate will collaborate with teachers in the ELA and Special Education departments.
