Job Description

The West Seneca Central School District is seeking a Director of Technology to lead and manage all aspects of instructional and operational technology for the district.  This is a full-time, 12-month administrative position where the ideal candidate, under the direction of the Superintendent of Schools, will provide strategic direction and hands-on oversight of infrastructure, hardware/software deployment, data systems, and the integration of technology into curriculum and instruction.  The Director will supervise technical staff and work collaboratively with building and district leaders to ensure technology enhances student learning, staff development, and district operations.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage the district's long-range technology plan.
  • Oversee the implementation, maintenance, and evaluation of district-wide networks, systems, and educational technologies.
  • Serve as Data Protection Officer.
  • Support chief information needs.
  • Supervise and support the technical team, ensuring timely and effective resolution of issues.
  • Provides leadership in digital equity, cybersecurity, and compliance with data privacy regulations.
  • Lead professional development related to instructional technology.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to support teaching, learning, and operational needs through innovative solutions.
  • Perform such tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the Central Office Team and/or by the Superintendent of Schools.

Job Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Possession of, or eligible for, either:
    • Valid New York State Certification as a School District Administrator (SDA) or School District Leader (SDL) and/or
    • Erie County Civil Service appointment as a Chief Microcomputer Technical  Support Specialist (CMCTSS)
      • Transfer applicants will be considered and,
      • Those currently on the eligibility list must respond to their canvass letter as well as apply.
  • Master's Degree in Educational Leadership, Information Technology, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of successful experience in technology integration, systems administration, or network management, with at least two (2) years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of current data communication technologies, software systems, and instructional technology trends in K-12 Education.
  • Exceptional organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments and build capacity in others.
