Job Description

The West Seneca Central School District has an anticipated vacancy for a Director of Student Engagement to provide leadership for planning, organizing, directing and maintaining student engagement initiatives in Title I Schools.  The Director will support research-based, high-leverage instructional practices and will partner with District leadership to align with the Strategic Plan, District Comprehensive Improvement Plan and School Comprehensive Education Plan goals.

This is a full-time, 12-month administrative position with salary and benefits paid according to the West Seneca School Administrators' Association's collective bargaining agreement.

The hiring committee timeline is as follows:

  • Tuesday, August 12, 2025, Screening interviews

  • Thursday, August 14, 2025, Committee Interviews

  • Tuesday, August 19, 2025, Board of Education recommendation 

  • Immediate tentative start date

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Share, model and support research-based, high-leverage instructional practices
  • Promote effective behavioral interventions both school-wide (i.e. PBIS) and classroom/individual levels
  • Support, coach and guide teachers, instructional staff and teacher aides to improve student engagement and classroom management
  • Collaborate with principals and assistant principals to co-evaluate instruction leadership and promote a culture of engagement
  • Lead professional development, teacher training and workshops on student engagement and behavioral strategies
  • Identify achievement gaps and co-construct intervention strategies with MTSS teams and teachers
  • Analyze engagement data and collaborate with families and community partners to support student success
  • Other duties as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction
Job Qualifications
  • Valid New York State Certification as a School Building Administrator (SBA) or School Building Leader (SBL), with eligibility for School District Administrator (SDA) or School District Leader (SDL) during the probationary period;
  • Experience working in Title I Schools and knowledge of Title I program requirements;
  • A record of strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Evidence of expertise in research-based instructional strategies to increase student attendance, engagement in learning and improvement of academic outcomes.
