Job Description

The West Seneca Central School District has a vacancy for a Speech Language Pathologist - Speech Teacher who holds valid certification in the Speech tenure area.  This position is a full-time, probationary appointment beginning with the 2025-2026 school year.  The ideal candidate will be entitled to benefits and a salary that is commensurate with experience.

Required Certification:  Speech Pre K-12

Preferences:  Masters degree in Speech Language Pathology, valid NYS License as SLP, Certificate of Clinical Competence in                                    Speech Language Pathology (CCC-SLP), Experience in a school setting preferred but not required.

Roles:

  • Speech teacher working across all levels - K through 12, ensuring educational relevance in general education and special education classrooms.
  • Experience and willingness to work with diverse learners serving a wide range of disorders (speech sound disorders, language, fluency)
  • Ability to evaluate and provide therapy to students with various needs, highlighting language/literacy and culturally competent services
  • Responsibilities may include, but not limited to, working with students in the home/non-public buildings or sites outside the school campus.

Range of responsibilities:

  • Prevention, assessment, intervention
  • Participate in CSE meetings and experience with developing and contributing to IEP development
  • Data collection
  • Compliance - appropriate teaching certificate and NYS license (or ASHA CCC) for Medicaid billing
  • Ability to collaborate with teachers, parents/guardians, and other school personnel on behalf of students

 

Salary and benefits are paid according to the West Seneca Teachers' Association collective bargaining agreement. The candidate will report to the building Principal and the Directors of Special Education.
