Job Description

The West Seneca Central School District has a temporary vacancy in the Elementary tenure area for a Kindergarten teacher.  This is a one-year, full-time, probationary appointment for an individual who holds valid NYS certification to teach at the elementary school level.

Required Certification(s): 

• Early Childhood Education B-2 and,

• Childhood/Elementary Education 1-6     

Preferred Certification(s):

• Literacy and/or English as a Second Language (ESL/ENL)

Salary and benefits are paid according to the West Seneca Teachers' Association collective bargaining agreement.

Job Qualifications

   Experience and Skills Preferred:

• Knowledge of state standards across all curricular areas
• Experience providing targeted, differentiated classroom instruction
• Knowledge of phonics instruction and balanced literacy
• PBIS
• Experience using formative and summative assessments to inform instructional decision-making
• Skilled at working with diverse student populations
• Ability to collaborate and work with teachers
• Positive, effective classroom management skills/strategies
• Experience using technology to enhance instructional practices
