| The West Seneca Central School District has an anticipated vacancy for a Speech Language Pathologist - Speech Teacher who holds valid certification in the Speech tenure area. This position is a full-time, probationary appointment effective immediately. The ideal candidate will be entitled to benefits and a salary that is commensurate with experience. Required Certification: Speech Pre K-12 Preferences: Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology. A valid NYS License as an SLP (or working toward a NYS license), Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) and experience in a school setting are preferred but not required. Additionally, we will consider a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY). Roles: - Speech teacher working across all levels — K through 12, ensuring educational relevance in general education and special education classrooms.
- Experience and willingness to work with diverse learners serving a wide range of disorders (speech sound disorders, language, fluency)
- Ability to evaluate and provide therapy to students with various needs, highlighting language/literacy and culturally competent services
- Responsibilities may include, but not limited to, working with students in the home/non-public buildings or sites outside the school campus.
Range of responsibilities: - Prevention, assessment, intervention for students with speech-language needs.
- Participate in CSE meetings and experience with developing and contributing to IEP development.
- Data collection.
- Compliance - appropriate teaching certificate and NYS license (or ASHA CCC) for Medicaid billing.
- Ability to collaborate with teachers, parents/guardians, and other school personnel on behalf of students.
| Salary and benefits are paid according to the West Seneca Teachers' Association's collective bargaining agreement. The candidate will report to the building Principal and the Directors of Special Education. | |
