Job Description

The West Seneca Central School District currently has administrative vacancies for Assistant Principals at the Elementary School level.  These vacancies are full-time, probationary appointments for the ideal candidate with salary and benefits paid, according to the West Seneca School Administrators' Association (WSSAA) collective bargaining agreement.  Salaries are competitive and commensurate with experience.

The timeline for all interested candidates is as follows.  The hiring committee will meet and screen applications as early as March 20, 2026.  On Tuesday, March 24, 2026, screening interviews will take place for selected candidates and committee round interviews are scheduled for Tuesday, April 14, 2026.  Finalists will meet with our Executive Leadership Team and the Principals of Northwood Elementary School and Winchester-Potters Elementary School on Friday, April 17, 2026, with new hire recommendations/appointments presented to the West Seneca Central School District's Board of Education at their April 28, 2026, Board Work Session with a tentative start date of June 1, 2026.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform as a visible and effective leader in both long-range planning and day-to-day operations.  Perform related duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

Required Certification:  NYS certification as a School Building Leader (SBL) or School Administrator and Supervisor (SAS) 
Preferred Certification:  Additional NYS certification as a School District Leader (SDL) or School District Administrator (SDA) is a plus                                               but not required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Five (5) or more years of teaching experience at the elementary school level preferred
  • Evidence of strong instructional leadership pertaining to staff development, curriculum, instruction, and assessment
  • Comprehensive knowledge of elementary school philosophy as it relates to:
    • the NYS Standards,
    • MTSS protocols,
    • high leverage instructional practices,
    • developmental readiness,
    • literacy instruction and, 
    • maintaining prosocial student behaviors.
  • Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills that foster the district's mission of "nurturing our full potential"
