Job Description

Seeking a qualified and experienced Automotive Mechanic Crew Chief for our Transportation Department.  

Approximate hours 7:30 am - 3:30 pm (Shift may vary due to the needs of the district)

Job Qualifications

Individuals should have good knowledge of, and participated in, the repair, maintenance and supervision of employees in a suburban school district with a fleet of approximately 85 school vehicles, and other vehicles and equipment owned by the district. Individuals will be required to diagnose, assign and supervise the repair work performed in the department garage.  Individuals must have an in-depth knowledge of all applicable regulations as required by the State of New York and the New York State Department of Transportation. 

 

Possession of a valid New York State Commercial Driver’s License – Class B with “S”: School Bus, “P” passenger endorsements at the time of appointment.  Candidates may be required to be qualified under Article 19A of the Vehicle and Traffic Laws of NYS DMV and the NYS Education Department.
