Job Description

The West Seneca Central School District is seeking a full-time Music teacher to provide vocal and general music instruction for students at the Elementary grade levels.  This position is a temporary appointment for the 2026-2027 school year with salary and benefits paid according to the West Seneca Teachers' Association collective bargaining agreement and commensurate with experience.

A music teacher is responsible for creating a safe, stimulating and nurturing learning environment and assisting every student in reaching his/her potential.  Teachers are responsible for planning and preparation of their lessons; providing a safe classroom environment; leading effective instruction and participating in long-range planning which includes their own professional development.

Job Qualifications

Required Certification:  Music, Pre K-12

Experience and Skills Preferred::

• Knowledge of teaching music in a differentiated format
• Experience with a variety of classroom management skills and behavior intervention programs
• Knowledge of program modifications, testing accommodations and supplementary aides
• Strong computer and communication skills
• Ability to collaborate and work with other members of the department
• Ability to demonstrate and perform with proper vocal technique
• Choral conducting experience with piano background preferred
