DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS:
The work involves managing audiovisual productions and related systems that align with strategic goals and brand identity at the West Seneca Central School District. The incumbent designs, records, edits and produces multimedia content and is responsible for the development and maintenance of related systems. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Director of Technology. Supervision may be exercised over Multi-Media Specialists I and other technical support staff. Does related work as required.
TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES:
- Operates and maintains broadcast studio equipment, including lighting systems, audio systems, and video editing for live multi-camera events

Records and publishes monthly board meetings and school events

Participates in the design process of AV and Production systems throughout the district

Performs maintenance and upgrades on AV presentation systems

Develops and supports the technical aspects of student media production labs

Edits videos utilizing media editing tools such as Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, and Adobe After Effects

Creates simple graphics and visual elements using graphic design software like Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Adobe InDesign for multimedia projects

Maintains the district's video asset library

Collaborates with the Communications and Digital Media Coordinator to produce content
FULL PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS:
The focus for this role is event digital video recording and publishing and maintaining district AV systems for presentation. Experience in education is a plus, but not required. We will be looking for evidence of professional-quality video production in an ENG, corporate, or documentary style. Candidates should be able to independently plan, shoot, record audio, edit, create graphics, and publish content in that style. A primary responsibility is three-camera recording of monthly Board meetings and special events using a PTZ camera setup (DataVideo). The incumbent will need expertise with this production equipment to maintain and upgrade as required. The incumbent will also be required to support district-managed AV presentation equipment. Advanced graphics and animation are not a priority for this position.
Personal characteristics included the ability to maintain effective working relationships with a diverse constituency, apply sound professional judgment, and manage a dynamic schedule of work and related equipment inventories. Incumbents shall be capable of performing the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
Please note, candidates must be willing to work variable hour shifts to accommodate video production for evening events. Schedules will generally be determined in advance with an estimated 4-7 days a month of second-shift work. The incumbent will be provided additional latitude to adjust their schedule as needed to prepare and set up equipment.
Technical Skills

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A.) Possession of a Bachelor’s degree** and five (5) years of experience in a position with multi-media***
responsibilities; OR:
B.) Possession of an Associate’s degree** or completion of sixty (60) college credit hours** and seven (7) years of
experience in a position with multi-media*** responsibilities; OR
C.) An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of (A) and (B).
NOTE 1: Possession of a Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, multi-media design or related field may be substituted for one (1) year of the required experience.
NOTE 2***: Multi-Media is defined, for qualifying purposes, as the use of a computer to present and combine text, graphics, still images, audio, animation and video with links and tools in such a way that they can be accessed interactively. Used to present information or content in an interesting and interactive manner.
NOTE 3: *Per resolution (#L-2026-0031) presented to State Civil Service Commission, action approved and filed with the Department of State on March 13, 2026, under the Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide (HELPS) Program, this title is temporarily reassigned to NON-COMPETITIVE Classification.
