Principal - Elementary

The West Seneca Central School District has an immediate administrative vacancy for an Elementary Principal at Winchester-Potters Elementary School.  The Elementary School Principal is responsible for performing the administrative and management functions necessary for carrying out the day-to-day educational and operational missions of the school and the district.
This is a full-time, probationary appointment for the ideal candidate with salary and benefits paid, according to the West Seneca School Administrators' Association (WSSAA) collective bargaining agreement.  Salary is commensurate with experience.

The timeline for all interested candidates is as follows.  The hiring committee will meet and screen applications as early as March 11, 2025.  On Wednesday, March 12, 2025, screening interviews will take place for selected candidates and the second round, committee interviews are scheduled for Tuesday, March 18, 2025.  Finalists will meet with our Assistant Superintendent of Administrative Operations, the Superintendent of Schools and the District's Central Office Team on Monday, March 24, 2025, with a new hire recommendation/appointment presented to the West Seneca Central School District's Board of Education at their April 8, 2025, board meeting.  We are looking for a tentative start date of Monday, May 12, 2025.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

The duties of the Elementary School Principal include but are not limited to the following:

  • Perform as a visible and effective leader in both long-range planning and day-to-day operations.
  • Develop, implement and oversee the instructional program;
  • Supervise personnel;
  • Design student development programs;
  • Administer policies and procedures
  • Write and maintain records and reports;
  • Prepare and administer the school budget;
  • Oversee school maintenance;
  • Develop positive community relationships;  
  • Perform related duties as assigned.

Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction

The West Seneca Central School District seeks an innovative executive leader to advance our instructional programs, student opportunities, student engagement and student outcomes. 

This is a full-time, probationary appointment with salary and benefits determined pursuant to the Personal Services Agreement by and between the successful candidate and the Superintendent of Schools with the approval of the West Seneca Central School District's Board of Education.  Salary will be commensurate with the experience of the selected candidate.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction will work cooperatively with all district stakeholders to provide leadership and vision in the ongoing planning, implementation, development and direction of the District's educational programs and operations; including but not limited to Pre-K-12 programming, academic performance and accountability, curriculum, instruction, technology integration, professional learning for teachers and staff.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY:

The Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction will work in close collaboration with the District's leaders (Curriculum Directors, Special Education and Pupil Personnel Administrators, Building Administrators, Teacher Leaders, and the Curriculum Council) to ensure the District's comprehensive educational program meets the needs of all learners.  This includes working closely with stakeholders to continuously assess students' needs for the purpose of improving the instructional program for the District.  The ideal candidate will demonstrate a dedication to enhancing instruction and pedagogy through high quality professional development including, but not limited to, our Superintendent's Conference Days and our New Teacher Academy.  Leadership and oversight to ensure an alignment of the development of District plans, such as the District Comprehensive Improvement Plan, Strategic Plan, Academic Intervention Plan, and Professional Learning Plan to ensure resources are strategically invested in the goals of the District.  The Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction is responsible for budgetary oversight of District allocated funds in addition to state and federal grants (i.e. Title grants).
