Physical Education Teacher - Probationary

The West Seneca Central School District is seeking a passionate, student-centered Elementary Physical Education Teacher to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate is a dedicated educator who thrives in a collaborative environment and is committed to delivering high-quality physical education aligned with the New York State Learning Standards for Physical Education. 

The position is a full-time, probationary appointment with salary and benefits paid according to the West Seneca Teachers' Association's collective bargaining agreement and commensurate with experience. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Deliver engaging, standards-based physical education instruction that fosters lifelong fitness, physical literacy, and healthy habits.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs, abilities, and interests, incorporating choice and variety into the curriculum.  
  • Build positive relationships with students, encouraging personal growth and confidence through physical activity.
  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and culturally responsive learning environment where all students feel valued and supported.
  • Integrate technology and digital resources to enhance instruction and student engagement.
  • Utilize a variety of instructional strategies to engage students with various learning styles.
  • Emphasize the connection between physical activity, emotional well-being, and academic success through intentional integration of social-emotional learning.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues, families, and the school community to support student success.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to support school athletics and extracurricular programming through coaching and mentorship.
