The West Seneca Central School District has a vacancy for a Speech Language Pathologist - Speech Teacher who holds valid certification in the Speech tenure area.  This position is a full-time, probationary appointment effective immediately.  The ideal candidate will be entitled to benefits and a salary that is commensurate with experience.

Required Certification:  Speech Pre K-12

Preferences:  Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology.  A valid NYS License as an SLP (or working toward a NYS license), Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) and experience in a school setting are preferred but not required.  Additionally, we will consider a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY).

Roles:

• Speech teacher working across all levels — K through 12, ensuring educational relevance in general education and special education classrooms.
• Experience and willingness to work with diverse learners serving a wide range of disorders (speech sound disorders, language, fluency)
• Ability to evaluate and provide therapy to students with various needs, highlighting language/literacy and culturally competent services
• Responsibilities may include, but not limited to, working with students in the home/non-public buildings or sites outside the school campus.

Range of responsibilities:

• Prevention, assessment, intervention for students with speech-language needs.
• Participate in CSE meetings and experience with developing and contributing to IEP development.
• Data collection.
• Compliance - appropriate teaching certificate and NYS license (or ASHA CCC) for Medicaid billing.
• Ability to collaborate with teachers, parents/guardians, and other school personnel on behalf of students and perform other relevant duties as assigned.
