Clerk Typist (NY HELPS)

West Seneca Central School District is seeking a qualified candidate for the following opening at West Elementary: 

Clerk Typist (NY HELPS) This is a 12-month position.  
Approximate hours:  8:00 am - 4:00 pm Monday - Friday 

**The NY HELPS (Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Program Statewide) is a New York State program that allows civil service agencies to hire qualified permanent employees quickly and without requiring them to take a competitive civil service exam. It was created to help agencies fill critical vacancies by streamlining the appointment process, though candidates must still meet all other minimum qualifications for the job. 

12-month positions receive paid holidays, sick & personal days, earn vacation time, are eligible for health and dental insurance and membership in the NYS Retirement System.

Music Teacher - Part-Time - Vocal/General Music

Certificated Vacancy

The West Seneca Central School District has a vacancy for a part-time, temporary Music teacher at West Elementary School for the 2026-2027 school year.  The ideal candidate will provide vocal music instruction to students at the elementary school grade levels.  Work days may be scheduled for half and/or full days.  The successful candidate will be offered work as a preferred building substitute when not assigned to teaching Music classes. 

Experience and Skills Preferred:

  • Knowledge of teaching music in a differentiated format.
  • Experience with a variety of classroom management skills and behavior intervention programs.
  • Knowledge of program modifications, testing accommodations and supplementary aides.
  • Strong computer and communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate and work with other members of the department.
  • Ability to demonstrate and perform with proper vocal technique.
  • Choral conducting experience with piano background preferred.

The candidate must be able to demonstrate planning and preparation, instructional skills, effective classroom management and be motivated to engage in continuous professional development.

A music teacher is responsible for creating a safe, stimulating and nurturing learning environment and to assist every student in reaching his/her potential.
