Anticipated Art Teacher - Temporary Part-Time

The West Seneca Central School District is anticipating a vacancy for a part-time, temporary Art teacher at West Elementary School for the 2026-2027 school year.  Work days may be scheduled for half and/or full days.  The successful candidate will be offered work as a preferred building substitute when not assigned to teaching Art classes. 

Experience and Skills Preferred:

  • Plan and implement standards-based art instruction for students in grades K-5.
  • Teach a wide range of medias, along with integrating art history, cultural awareness, and interdisciplinary connections into lessons.
  • Differentiate instruction to support diverse learners, including students with IEPs and English Language Learners.
  • Assess student learning through projects and portfolios.
  • Maintain a safe, organized and engaging classroom/studio environment.
  • Manage inventory and care for art supplies, tools and equipment.
  • Display student artwork throughout the school and work closely with the district art department to coordinate art exhibitions.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to support cross-curricular initiatives and school-wide goals.
  • Work closely and in collaboration with the full-time building art teacher at West Elementary.

    The candidate must be able to demonstrate planning and preparation, instructional skills, effective classroom management and be motivated to engage in continuous professional development.

Elementary Teacher - Probationary

The West Seneca Central School District has anticipated vacancies in the Elementary tenure area for grade level settings.  The positions are full-time, probationary appointments beginning with the upcoming school year for individuals who are certified to teach at the elementary school level.  

Required Certification(s): 

  • Early Childhood Education B-2 and,

  • Childhood/Elementary Education 1-6     

Preferred Certification(s):

  • Literacy and/or Special Education

Salary and benefits are paid according to the West Seneca Teachers' Association collective bargaining agreement.

Special Education Teacher - Probationary - Elementary

Certificated Vacancy

The West Seneca Central School District has a vacancy in the Education of Children with Handicapping Conditions - General Special Education tenure area.  The position will be a probationary appointment for the successful candidate who is certified to teach Special Education at the elementary school level, grades K-5.  The current assignment is a 6:1+3 classroom setting.

Salary and benefits will be paid according to the West Seneca Teachers' Association's collective bargaining agreement.

The candidate will report to the building principal and the Director of Special Education and must be able to demonstrate planning and preparation, instructional skills, effective classroom management and be motivated to engage in continuous professional development.
