Long Term Substitute - Speech Language Pathologist (Speech Teacher)

The West Seneca Central School District is currently seeking a long-term substitute for a Speech Teacher at the elementary level.  This will be a full-time, temporary appointment beginning October 2023 through the end of the school year for an individual who holds certification in the Speech tenure area.

The selected individual will receive teacher's salary and benefits prorated to the appointment timeframe.

Roles:

  • Speech teacher working across all levels - K through 12 ensuring educational relevance in general education and special education classrooms
  • Serving a wide range of disorders (speech sound disorders, language, fluency)
  • Highlighting language/literacy and culturally competent services
  • Role may include, but not limited to, working with students in the home/non-public buildings or sites outside the school campus.

Range of responsibilities:

  • Prevention, assessment, intervention
  • Data collection
  • Compliance - appropriate teaching certificate and NYS license (or ASHA CCC) for Medicaid billing
  • Ability to work with families, students and collaborate with teachers and administration

Previous completion of Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) preferred

Building/Location:  District/Northwood Elementary

Salary and benefits paid according to the West Seneca Teachers' Association collective bargaining agreement. The candidate will report to the building Principal and the Director of Special Education.

$45,524 - $52,886
